Here’s Jenn with her casting pick for The Way to Game the Walk of Shame

Every author imagines how their book would be as a movie someday. Or maybe it’s just me. In fact, I always have my entire movie cast planned out before I even write a single word of the story. Not that I’m crazy or cocky enough to believe that my book would be a movie, but it’s always nice to dream. J Plus it’s how I always plot out my stories.

The first thing I do when I start a new story is work on character bios and find pictures to fit the characters. Sad, happy, laughing, fighting, etc. This helps me connect with the characters and I can plot out the story better when I can visualize them and each scene in my head. It becomes real to me. And I get to spend hours just looking at pictures online and call it ‘research’.

So without further adieu, my movie cast for THE WAY TO GAME THE WALK OF SHAME that I pulled from my very first draft! I know that some of these actors are way too old to play high schoolers now, but since this is my dream cast, in my mind, they’re forever young. They’ve found the secret to the Fountain of Youth. Like Ellen DeGeneres. Or Mario Lopez.

Danielle Panabaker

Taylor Simmons: Medium brown hair with bangs that get in her eyes, dark brown eyes, slightly elfish face. She’s very slim with little to no curves. Medium height. (Actress – Danielle Panabaker)

Nick Zano

Evan McKinley: Tall, but very broad. Muscular. Spiky dark blond hair, dark gray eyes, straight nose aside from the bump at the bridge, large square jaw that’s slightly lopsided. Dimple on one cheek. (Actor – Nick Zano, during the What I Like About You era)

Fun fact – This picture was what helped to inspire the first chapter of THE WAY TO GAME THE WALK OF SHAME

Lucy Hale

Carly Winters: Dark brown almost black hair that’s wavy and falls down her back. Tall and a little stocky, but very fit with curves. Square jaw with pouty lips. Dark eyes. (Actress – Lucy Hale)

Wu ChunBrian Long: Very tall and lanky (like a swimmer) and is of asian descent. He has slightly long black hair that he sweeps to the side, off his forehead. Very straight nose. (Actor – Wu Chun)

Scarlett Pomers

Lauren Tillman: Long curly red hair, icy blue eyes. Straight nose and very fair skin. She’s skinny and medium built like Taylor, but has curves that she doesn’t have. (Actress – Scarlett Pomers)

Zachary Abel

Aaron Fitzgerald: Tall and stocky with dark curly hair. Not quite as broad as Evan, but also muscular and has a way of always towering over people. Green eyes. (Actor: Zachary Abel)

Thank you so much Jenn for sharing to us your casting pick for The Way to Game the Walk of Shame. I’m excited to meet all the characters of your novel especially now with those brilliant actors/actresses above. Love Wu Chun by the way which makes me more excited to meet Brian Long and of course Taylor and Evan too.

Taylor Simmons is screwed.

Things were hard enough when her single-minded dedication to her studies earned her the reputation of being an Ice Queen, but after getting drunk at a party and waking up next to bad boy surfer Evan McKinley, the entire school seems intent on tearing Taylor down with mockery and gossip.

Desperate to salvage her reputation, Taylor persuades Evan to pretend they’re in a serious romantic relationship. After all, it’s better to be the girl who tames the wild surfer than just another notch on his surfboard.
