Celebrating Debutantes 2016: Iron Cast by Destiny Soria (Playlist and Giveaway)

Today we are featuring a new set of Playlist for Celebrating Debutantes 2016.

Debut author Destiny Soria put together a set of songs for her upcoming debut novel Iron Cast. The playlist offers various types of songs and artist. Most of them are new discovery for me and I’m actually surprise to enjoy every songs. The combinations of songs feels like a movie soundtrack which I guess what a novel playlist is – a soundrack for a story that the book wants to tell. Just by listening to the songs I already have an idea what to expect to the Iron Cast novel. The playlist basically put me in the mood, and makes me more excited to read the book when it comes out it three weeks. I hope the same thing goes with all of you.

Iron Cast Playlist

Here’s a confession: I am that person who finds a handful of songs she likes and listens to them on repeat for months. I depend on my more musically refined friends to recommend new artists to me, and without them, I would honestly probably still be listening exclusively to the gelled-hair, crop top-wearing bands of my youth.

So with that being said, I’m sure you’re super excited to take a peek at my Iron Cast playlist. It’s a fairly eclectic mix, featuring everything from Jazz Age favorites to the ever-excellent T-Swift to the wonderful weirdness of The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Every song reminds me of a character or aspect of the book, even though some connections are harder to decipher than others. I like to think this is a good playlist for when you’re getting ready for a night at an illegal speakeasy or gearing up to dismantle a shady government agency. You know, typical Friday night stuff. Enjoy!

Destiny Soria grew up in a tiny town in Alabama that you’ve never heard of, where she spent her summers playing with sticks in the woods and exploring such distinguished careers as Forest Bandit, Wayward Orphan, and Woodland Fairy Princess. After college, she ran away to New Zealand for seven months and only pretended to be a character from Lord of the Rings on special occasions. The rest of the time she backpacked across the wilderlands, petted fluffy sheep, and gave tours of a haunted prison. Nowadays she lives and works in the shadow of the mighty Vulcan in Birmingham, AL.
