Cover Reveal: Taste by Kate Evangelista

I rarely join online book events promoting books through cover reveal, blurb or any form of book teaser. But when I received an email from  Kate Evangelista asking me to join the cover reveal of her book, Taste I just can’t say no. The cover is too gorgeous to resist and the fact that it is written by a fellow Filipina is an added go factor too.

Isn’t the art cover pretty? That alone convince me to add this book to my TBR (to-be-read) pile. The book is coming soon from Crescent Moon Press but to those who can’t wait, you may stalk the author from the links at the end of this post and read the blurb below to know what the story is all about.

Official Blurb:

At Barinkoff Academy, there’s only one rule: no students on campus after curfew. Phoenix McKay soon finds out why when she is left behind at sunset. A group calling themselves night students threaten to taste her flesh until she is saved by a mysterious, alluring boy. With his pale skin, dark eyes, and mesmerizing voice, Demitri is both irresistible and impenetrable. He warns her to stay away from his dangerous world of flesh eaters. Unfortunately, the gorgeous and playful Luka has other plans.

When Phoenix is caught between her physical and her emotional attraction, she becomes the keeper of a deadly secret that will rock the foundations of an ancient civilization living beneath Barinkoff Academy. Phoenix doesn’t realize until it is too late that the closer she gets to both Demitri and Luka the more she is plunging them all into a centuries old feud.

YA Books Cover Art Transformation

When I was browsing Devian Art this morning, I saw this particular photo entitled Romanticide that looks so much alike with the book cover art of Passion by Lauren Kate. The art photo is uploaded by Nathalia Suellen under her Devian Art account, Lady-Sympjonia. I’m not sure which one is the original but I assume Lauren Kate’s publisher bought the rights for the design to be used for Passion. I also tried to search other art designs turned to book covers and below are some of the cover arts I found online. On the left side are the photos or art designs while on the right side are the version used as book cover art by some young adult books.

What do you think about the art design transformation?
